How does visual and audio effects together effect the way Guardians of the Galaxy was presented? In the movie, Guardians of the Galaxy, I was repeatedly drawn in by the effects in the movie whether they were audio or visual. To start, the background music in this movie was phenomenal. They had a significant impact on the scenes, and without them, the movie would not have been as great. In the beginning of the movie, Peter's mom was on her deathbed, which naturally is a very sad sight; but because of the background dramatic music, it had so much more of a stronger, lasting effect on me, that it almost left me in tears.
But on the other side of the spectrum, the visual effects were absolutely outstanding. While some of the scenes gave off that evil lair, evil villain vibes with the dark and eery look everywhere you looked, others were just simply breathtaking. The scene at the end where Peter dives for the Infinity Crystal, and his body and face started to glow purple and shatter, and how the group was enveloped in that sphere of dark grey smoke and purple explosions really left me mind boggled on how on earth they were able to pull that off. In my opinion, that one scene alone had the best visual effect and editing than any other scene combined in the whole movie. All in all, the audio and visual effects that went into Guardians of the Galaxy really tied the entire movie together for me and without them, this movie could not have been as memorable as it was.

What technology has changed our society the most and why? Technology available to us today has changed multiple principles, elements, and simply put, the way things work and run in our society. Things as simple as just talking to someone has evolved into something almost completely different than how it was before; Now with calling, texting, Facetime, Twitter, Facebook and even email, chatting with someone has become instantaneous, and it's starting to become seriously unhealthy.
In my opinion, social technology has changed and evolved our society the most. I believe its gotten to a state of unhealthiness because at every waking hour and every other minute of the day we constantly go to these social media platforms and talk, post, and share things without censors and this has made desensitized to things that in the norm would be looked down and frowned upon. We should spend less time without filters online, and more time conversing with others outside or like the old ways. It's causing a significant increase in people with less and less social skills and therefore watering down the intellectual conversations we used to be able to have with others around us. All in all, social technology and media has significantly changed our society and for the most part, not for the better. With all the the desensitizing, uncensored, and unfiltered communication we have with others almost instantaneously is tearing down on our real world social skills. Furthermore, its decreasing the real and memorable interactions we could be having with, family, friends, loved ones, and others we have yet to meet in the years yet to come. Have you ever had creative block, and how did you deal with it? Creative block has done me in on several occasions. And whenever it happens, it tends to linger for a good while and is not easy to get rid of or break. Like a brick wall, you cant punch it down, but with hammer, the job is a whole lot easier. Here are some of my experiences with creative block, and tips on how I dealt with it through out my first year of taking Multimedia and Webpage Design and Digital Media, where I experienced it the most and where it really hurt me.
My first time encountering creative block caught me off guard, and I was left helpless and without ideas and the creativity I relied upon so much for creating and thinking of designs. Through out the week or two it lasted, I struggled to complete projects I was assigned. Nothing i tried to come up with looked good and for the most part was either irrelevant or just straight up made no sense, as the idea I had come up with was jumbled and very unclear. I knew i had to do something to fix this, it was then i realized it was not was I was not doing, rather what I was doing wrong. Sometimes creative block can develop from having too many ideas and trying to put them to use all at once, but the actual case is that you should just use a few that work best. When something becomes overloaded, it seizes being what it was intended and becoming a complete mess. How I went about solving this problem was not as hard as it was trying to figure out and understand the problem I was going through to begin with. To start, I wrote down every single idea I had before I started a project. After saving them and throwing them all in a folder, I went through all the ideas. I smoked out the ones that were compatible with each other and worked the best and mode the most sense for the project on hand. Doing this, i wasn't using all the ideas i had for a single project, saving some for future assignments, and not overloading the current project to the point where I don't know what to do with it. This has helped me on various occasions and I suggest that everyone do it too before they get hit with a bad case of Creative Block. |
